there’s an ask i’m not going to repsond do directly, because the writer who sent it clearly didn’t mean harm and i don’t want to make them feel bad, or bully them, or set them up for mockery and or being bullied, but —

don’t send your ideas to writers…

Makes so much sense.

Am I the only one getting slight flashbacks of Hetalia and trying not to let it ruin my perception of historical figures since its already destroyed my view of countries? PAAAASTA. …

Rain, chills, and wailing Florence Welsh

So, lots have happened this past week. For those who do not know, this past week has been Golden Week in China. Everyone gets a week long holiday. Which means, time to finally explore Sichuan a little more.

Friday:
Get to school by 8am. Watch the kids in the opening ceremony for the Sports Festival. Each class would have some students perform a skit that was then judged by some teachers and whoever got the best score won. It was adorable and really fun to watch. They had dance routines, tai chi, fan dancing, kung fu, etc. After that the teachers participated in a jump rope contest. I thought I was pretty decent at jump rope, but I guess any skills I once had are gone. Needless to say my time didn’t win.

Saturday:
Back at school. Watch the kids compete in some sports, but mostly I read. And then I found out my best friend was pregnant. Was also given 200yuan as a present from the school, so that was nice. Proceeded to go home and talk with said friend about widdle pumkin. Then Saturday night consisted of meeting up with people at bar street and then going to this ‘club’ called Jelleyfish. Free drinks for the girls, not a horrible drink either. Ditched the club with some friends and went to a bar a little ways down from it and danced most of the night. Effie came home with me and we had a cute sleepover. After giggles and makeup discussions we passed out.

Sunday:
Getting up fairly early, Effie and I made our way to Tianfu Square to meet people to head over to this theme park. Our journey consisted of getting on the underground, getting off and trying to find the right bus to get to the theme park and unable to. Next was wandering to flag down a taxi. Then standing listlessly waving at any car that passes to pick us up. Finally, after convincing Annie that we would more then likely not die, we got a tut tut and proceeded on from there to the park. For those who do not know what a tut tut it is…its basically a box on the back of an electric bike. Not a scooter, not a motorcycle, but a bike. And then they proceed to scurry through traffic disregarding any safety measure one might usually take to preserve ones life. It has no doors so its open on the sides for your easy convienence when departing the tut tut. After getting dropped off we entered the theme park. Which I have to say is pretty snazzy. We rode rides where we were blasted with water cannons, rides where we were circles upside down, etc. And then we found the mini zoo stand. For 30yuan you could hold a friggen red panda. Or you could hold a python, a parrot, etc. You could also buy mice, turtles, and bunnies for pets. For those who know me well, you know how I go bonkers for bunnies. I almost came back that day with a widdle black bunny for a grand total of 20yuan. But I stopped myself and alas little leonides stayed behind.

Monday:
Left for Mount Emie. It involved getting up too early, getting on the bus to tianfu, getting on the subway to the train station, and then waiting for ages till we left. Where the train was then delayed for hours. Yay. We all congregated in to a group on the floor in the waiting area and proceeded to play endless games of Uno. Which gathered an audience of Chinese people who stood, squatted, or sometimes even sat on our things with us to watch. It was apparently very fascinating. Or it might have been the chorus of swear words that were coming from the circle we formed. Finally we left, was on the train for some hours, got to mount emie, got a sketch ride up the mountain to our hotel. Had the best friggen dinner ever and then slept like a baby on the comfiest mattress since coming here.

Tuesday-Wednesday:
Hiked up the mountain Tuesday which just involved a lot of stairs. At one point they were three kilometers of stairs…
Saw monkeys. Saw woman attacked by monkeys. Saw people attack said monkey with stick. Oh China.
Almost had an asthma attack on the stairs. Watched two dogs play for thirty minutes and then one of them fall asleep on someones foot. Aaawe.
Had another wonderful meal and then went to bed.
Wednesday consisted of wandering around the area, reading, and buying gifts for people. All in all very relaxing. And later that night left to go back home.
Wednesday night taking a taxi home I dont even want to get in to. It was crazy, a little scary, but mostly annoying.

Thursday-Sunday:
The rest of the week I spent relaxing at home, seeing friends, eating yummy Tibetan Food, etc.

All in all it was a really fun and much needed Golden Week.
